Opening Basle
On the 13 June 2008 we are proud to open the greenroof finally to the public.
Together with Stephan Brenneisen and his team from ZHAW we first celebrate with the Councillor Barbara Schneider and inform the press about the design process.
Later we welcome the public on the roof providing exiting information about the greenroof and enjoy the rare moment of being on the rooftop.
Thanks to the Team
This is for us as well the first date to experience the greenroof in its full dimension. The ZHWA team did a magnificent job; the plants blossom and the wooden structures shape our design convincingly.

Realisation Basle (4)
We are receiving more great images from the realisation of the roof in Basle.
Realisation Basle (3)
The team from the ZHAW Wädenswil is working miracles on the wooden walls.
Realisation Basle (2)
Garden soil, the second material that forms the concentric circles has been put in place. So the view from the Exhibition Tower changes quite dramatically once again (see before).
Wooden Fence Tests
First tests on location in Basle with wild wooden fences and borderline constructions. These fences will make the drawing more precise when seen from above and add some flavour for visits on the roof.
Realisation Basle (1)
This is the phantastic panoramic view over Basle from the Ramada Skylight Lounge on the 30th floor of the Exhibition Tower. The green roof starts to change as as the first material hey mulch is placed. The pulse line of the drawing becomes visible.
Concept Development Basle
A wild wooden fence is added to give the design a third dimension that will improve the intersections between the materials and enhance the experience for potential visitors on the roof.
Initial Concepts Basle
Concept kon-text
Concept 'kon-text' is a playful intervetion based on characteristic terms around the exhibition centre as an international hub of commerce. Through the fragmetation of the terms the familiar syllables can be put together in a playful way to create new words.
Concept puls
Concept 'puls' plays on the role of the exhibition centre as an impuls generator. The graphic design underlines the charisma and vitality of the location. The exhibition hall turns into an epicentre of innovation and exchange.
Starting Position Basle
Our first project with the ZHAW Wädenswil is the roof of the Exhibition Hall 1 for the Swiss Exhibition in Basle Switzerland. The Building is located next to the Exhibition Tower - the tallest building in Switzerland. From the BarRouge which is located on the top floor of the Exhibition Tower you have an excellent view over the roof.
